Ultimate Hits a hit Five hundred thousand. That is the number of copies that Square Enix's Ultimate Hits budget series has sold since its inception in September 2005. Since then, it has been a remarkable tool for the company to curb the high prices associated with the sales of used titles and personally pocket the popularity of their classics. To accompany this tremendous success, Square Enix will be releasing no fewer than sixteen more titles into the Ultimate Hits line on July 20, including Valkyrie Profile and Final Fantasy Tactics. In an interview with Yoshinori Yamagishi, producer of Radiata Stories, Yamagishi's response when asked about referring to Valkyrie Profile as a series was cryptic and vague, as if he had something to say that he wasn't ready to discuss. The excuse...err..reason for the resurrection is said to be that both titles were released prior to the April 2003 Square Enix merger. The company also plans on releasing other best-sellers in Japan, but no kind of North American re-release has been announced. Gamefront is reporting that there are rumors of a strategy meeting being held later this week in which the release date for Final Fantasy XII will be discussed, as well as the future of PlayOnline, information on Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children's release media, alpha tests for Ambrosia Odyssey, and a new project from Star Ocean 3 developers tri-Ace, which could possibly be a new Valkyrie Profile title.
